#PeopleOfPrecise: Meet Jason Lyons

At Precise, our greatest strength is our people. Every mission supported, every solution delivered, and every challenge overcome is made possible by professionals who bring expertise, dedication, and purpose to their work.

This month, we’re proud to spotlight Jason Lyons, Supply Support Lead Logistician for the EA-18G Growler Fleet Support Team (FST).

Supporting the Mission Through Logistics

Logistics can sometimes happen behind the scenes, but its impact on mission readiness is anything but small.

Jason directs supply chain operations, inventory management, and logistical readiness for a critical naval aviation platform. He also leads a team focused on eliminating supply bottlenecks, supporting lifecycle maintenance, and ensuring rapid-response part delivery to maximize operational availability for the fleet.

It’s a role built around one essential goal: helping make sure the fleet has what it needs, when it needs it.

A Culture That Grows Without Losing Its Heart

Jason joined Precise more than nine years ago, when the company was still getting its footing at NSWC Crane.

Since then, Precise has grown significantly — expanding by multiple companies and hundreds of employees.

But Jason says the experience of being part of the team hasn’t lost what made it special.

Despite the growth, he continues to feel welcomed and appreciated, just as he did on day one.

Frequent visits from C-suite leaders and HR have helped maintain what Jason describes as a close-knit, family feel.

For him, that’s what the Precise culture is all about: growing as an organization while continuing to make people feel seen, valued, and connected.

Putting People First

As a Precise Team Lead, Jason makes supporting people a priority from the very beginning.

When new employees join the team, he personally walks them around, introduces them to colleagues and customers, explains job expectations, and makes sure they know who they can turn to for support.

It’s a simple approach, but an important one.

When people know where they fit, who they can rely on, and what’s expected of them, they can hit the ground running.

Jason brings that same mindset to customer support.

Whether he’s running meetings or delivering reports, he looks for ways to go above and beyond — providing additional insights and data to give customers more than they expected.

For Jason, putting people first and delighting the customer go hand in hand.

Learn From the Misses

If Jason could offer one piece of advice to someone new to Precise, it would be this:

Don’t be afraid to ask questions. And don’t be afraid to embrace failure.

When things don’t go as planned, Jason encourages employees to take notes, learn from the experience, and use it as an opportunity to improve.

Because mistakes aren’t the end of the road.

They can be part of the path to becoming better at what you do.

Above all, Jason encourages new employees to seize every opportunity that comes their way.

Always Growing

Outside of work, Jason would choose public speaking as the skill he could instantly master.

As a self-described “people person,” he genuinely enjoys connecting with others and building relationships. Over the years, he’s developed a strong professional network, but speaking to large groups has always been more intimidating.

For Jason, becoming a more confident and capable public speaker would be another way to elevate his impact.

It’s a fitting goal for someone who already places so much value on connection, leadership, and helping others succeed.

Celebrating Our People

Jason’s work may center on supply chains, inventory, and logistics, but his impact goes far beyond the numbers.

He helps keep the mission moving.

He helps new teammates find their footing.

He looks for ways to give customers more.

And he continues to challenge himself to grow.

That’s what it looks like to Put People First and Delight the Customer.

We’re grateful for everything Jason brings to the Precise team and the mission we support.

Thank you, Jason, for your leadership, dedication, and commitment to the people around you.
