Hank Vanderborght is the Chief Operations Officer (COO) of Precise Systems. Hank served in the United States Marine Corps for 26 years and retired at the rank of Colonel in 2018 before joining Precise Systems.

During his service, Hank served as a naval aviator flying the CH-53E. His first fleet assignment was with HMH-466 “Wolfpack.” He deployed multiple times as part of Marine Expeditionary Units Special Operations Capable (MEU-SOC) and earned every qualification possible in the CH-53E, including Squadron Weapons and Tactics Instructor (WTI).

Hank also served as a Forward Air Controller (FAC) and aircraft maintenance officer, leading over 200 Marines and maintaining 16 aircraft. He was involved in real-world operations such as OPERATION DESERT THUNDER, OPERATION SAFE DEPARTURE, and IRAQI FREEDOM.

Hank attended the United States Naval Test Pilot School and served as a rotary wing test pilot leading multiple complex projects, including the aviation qualification of the LPD-17 class ships for all Navy and Marine Corps rotary wing and tiltrotor aircraft.

Hank also served as the lead Systems Engineer for CH-53K, Platform Lead for the UH-1Y and H-53, and Program Manager overseeing the development of the CH-53K and the sustainment of over 170 fielded CH-53Es before retiring in 2018.

Hank’s acquisition experience spans the entire life cycle of a major weapon system. He is DAWIA Level 3 certified in Program Management, Systems Engineering, and Test and Evaluation.

He earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from George Washington University and a Master of Science in Technical Management from Johns Hopkins University. His awards include the Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, and the MCAA “John Glenn” Test Pilot of the Year award.

Hank served four years as an operational Senior Vice President at Precise Systems before assuming the role of COO in February 2023.
