John Amsden is the Chief Strategy Officer of Precise Systems, where he leads the company’s enterprise strategy, growth initiatives, and long-term business planning. With a focus on aligning strategic priorities with customer and market demands, John drives initiatives that strengthen Precise’s position as a leader in engineering, digital transformation, and lifecycle support solutions for the Department of Defense.

Appointed CSO in February 2023, John previously served as Vice President of Strategy and Growth, where he oversaw the development and execution of corporate strategy and guided the company’s business development pipeline since 2017. Under his leadership, Precise has achieved exceptional growth and earned repeated recognition on Inc. Magazine’s list of Fastest Growing Companies. He also played a pivotal role in the successful acquisition and integration of four companies since 2023, expanding Precise’s technical capabilities and market reach.

Since joining Precise in 2016, John has held key leadership roles that have advanced the company’s strategic direction and contributed to its transformation into a multi-dimensional defense solutions provider. Prior to joining Precise, he served with Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation as Assistant Program Manager for Test and Evaluation and for Systems Engineering and Integration on the CH-53K helicopter development program.

A retired United States Marine Corps officer, John’s distinguished military career included service as Assistant Program Manager for Systems Engineering within the Marine Corps Heavy Lift Helicopter Program Office (PMA-261) and as a CH-53E pilot. His extensive engineering and acquisition experience spans the full life cycle of major weapon systems—from concept development through sustainment.

John is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). He holds a Master of Science in Project Management from Boston University and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Accounting from Texas A&M University.
